The UAE has officially announced the Eid Al Adha Holiday Dubai 2026 schedule, giving millions of residents a long break across both public and private sectors.

For many UAE residents, Eid Al Adha Holiday UAE celebrations will also create one of the longest weekends of the year, especially for government employees and students.

Eid Al Adha Holiday UAE 2026 Dates

Eid Al Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijjah in the Islamic calendar. In 2026, Arafat Day is expected to fall on Tuesday, May 26, followed by Eid Al Adha celebrations starting Wednesday, May 27.

Official Eid Al Adha Holiday Dates

  • Tuesday, May 26 — Arafat Day
  • Wednesday, May 27 to Friday, May 29 — Eid Al Adha Holiday
  • Monday, June 1 — Work and schools resume

Because the holiday connects with weekends, many UAE residents may enjoy extended time off.

Private Sector Eid Al Adha Holiday Dubai 2026

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) announced a four-day paid Eid Al Adha Holiday for private sector employees across the UAE.

Private Sector Holiday Schedule

  • Holiday starts: Tuesday, May 26
  • Holiday ends: Friday, May 29
  • Return to work: Monday, June 1

For employees who already have Saturday and Sunday weekends, this creates a six-day holiday from May 26 to May 31.

Public Sector Eid Al Adha Holiday UAE 2026

Federal government employees will receive an even longer break during the Eid Al Adha Holiday UAE period.

Public Sector Holiday Schedule

  • Holiday starts: Monday, May 25
  • Holiday ends: Friday, May 29

When combined with weekends before and after the official break, many public sector employees will enjoy a full nine-day holiday from May 23 to May 31.

Eid Al Adha School Holidays in Dubai & UAE

The UAE Ministry of Education confirmed that public schools will also observe the Eid Al Adha Holiday from Monday, May 25 to Friday, May 29.

Private schools in Dubai following the KHDA calendar are also expected to close during the same period.

Students, teachers, and school staff will return on Monday, June 1.

How Private Sector Employees Can Get 9 Days Off

Many UAE residents are already planning to extend their Eid Al Adha Holiday Dubai break by using only one annual leave day.

Simple 9-Day Holiday Plan

  • Saturday, May 23 — Weekend
  • Sunday, May 24 — Weekend
  • Monday, May 25 — Take annual leave
  • Tuesday, May 26 — Arafat Day
  • Wednesday, May 27 to Friday, May 29 — Eid Al Adha Holiday
  • Saturday, May 30 to Sunday, May 31 — Weekend

With this strategy, private sector workers can enjoy nine consecutive days off while using just one leave day.

Heavy Travel Expected During Eid Al Adha Holiday Dubai

During every major Eid Al Adha Holiday, highways across Dubai and the UAE become extremely busy as residents travel for:

  • family gatherings
  • staycations
  • road trips
  • visits to other Emirates

Long-distance driving during UAE summer temperatures can also place extra pressure on vehicle tyres, especially on highways connecting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Fujairah.

Before starting any Eid road trip, drivers should inspect:

  • tyre pressure
  • tread depth
  • tyre age
  • sidewall condition

For drivers preparing for long Eid travel, mathyo tyres provides mobile tyre fitting, tyre replacement, and emergency tyre support across Dubai.
